Job Summary

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the Spirit Airlines CASS (Continuing Analysis and Surveillance) system according to FAA Advisory Circular 120.79a. This position ensures on-going compliance in order to allow the continued operation of the Spirit Airline’s fleet.

  • Collect and organize data from various sources for use in the company CASS program.
  • Effective communication is essential. Responsible for disseminating information through the creation and distribution of all CASS meeting minutes. Include all “Follow-up” and Action Item requirements.
  • Analyze statistical data, utilizing risk assessment and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and maintain CASS audit schedules.
  • Maintain audit database in company computer system.
  • Assist QA auditors with vendor follow-up.
  • Develop and publish reports as required for company CASS program.
  • Analyze Corrective Action Reports generated from internal and external Quality Assurance Audits. Load audit results to the CASS database
  • Support the Sr. CASS Manager to ensure the CASS System is designed to monitor the maintenance program performance and effectiveness using a closed-loop system consisting of: Surveillance, Analysis, Corrective Action and Follow-up.
  • Responsible for making and recommending updates to the Corrective Action Process and Action Items to ensure up-to-date information is available at all times.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Must pass the Spirit Airlines SMS and Risk Assessment Training Course and Company Indoctrination Training
  • Minimum 3 years aircraft maintenance experience
  • Previous Airline (121) auditing or risk assessment experience.
  • Proficient in the following systems and programs; Continuous Analysis & Surveillance System (CASS), Air Transportation Oversight System (ATOS) & Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Proficient with Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Formal Quality Assurance credential from a recognized quality association is preferred, i.e. C.A.S.E.
  • Safety knowledge or experience preferred.
  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the corporation.
  • FAA Airframes & Powerplant License preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistical Analysis or any combination of education and experience in analytical fields preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills including; MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Frequent travel required.
